• India is a huge country with a huge population. 

• India has an ancient civilisation and has numerous languages. 

• The flag of India is called the Tricolour. 

• The saffron, white, and green stripes of the flag of India represent distinct values of the country. 

• They are said to stand for, respectively, courage and sacrifice, peace and truth, and faith and chivalry. 

• The Indian tricolour was designed by Pingali Venkayya, who was a freedom fighter and was a follower of Mahatma Gandhi. 

• India Gate is a war memorial situated in the capital city of New Delhi, India.

• It was built to commemorate the 80,000 British Indian Amry soldiers martyred during the first world war.

• The foundation stone was laid for India gate on 10th February 1921.

• India gate was officially inaugurated in 1931.

• India gate represents the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.
